CNY Day 2 '2005
Day 2 is wait for pple to come to my hse.. cos father 2nd oldest.. so shuang.. slept til 3 am cos dota prev nite... One gd thing tat came out of this CNY.. my SEP is settled.. parents brought out the fact tat I going for SEP in Finland.. Cold n Costly .. not worth it.. since they are agst me gg... but my uncles n aunties n cousins (from both maternal n paternal) all supported me.. haha Education, Exposure , Endependence... in the end their plan kinda backfired.. so i suppose i shd be going to Finland after all... The cousins tat trooped to my hse also played gunbound.. wanted to intro maple story but dunno y cannot login.. i guess i prefer to interact wif kids rather than debate on adult, mature worldly issues.. cos cousins r so cute n innocent.. so interacting wif them ... making kids laff while listening to adults talk abt their experiences... best of 2 worlds..
sometimes its kinda boring interacting wif extended family esp my mum's side cos age gap too big n cheena side... they will tend to ask the same routine qns..
1) NS finish already? err yar.. u asked me the same thing last yr n the yr b4... y dun u take the effort to remember?? maybe cos' too many uncles n aunts.. 5 uncles 4 aunts.. n tats only mum's side wif each couple having at least 3 chn each..
2) So where are u now? Wah so big liao ah.. studying uni... wat course wat yr?? why never go overseas? got gf not? Oh yar this yr got the added update abt my Vietnam trip and my upcoming Finland SEP...
3) wah ur results so good ah?? as they gush abt my Os n As.. and my scholarship... WAh No bond ah... how come so gd??? then they turn to my cousins.. must be like mervyn ah.. see so smart... then merv will act modest n say no lar.. juz lucky... then parents will butt in n say.. also dunno y so gd.. never see him study at all.. he since young keep playing computer games (even during exam time)... then some uncle will say.. tat means he smart lar.. quality time better than quantity.. he is the kind tat remembers wat he learns... all this while modestmerv juz keeps silent n gives shy wry smiles to all responses...
That sums up typical Extended Family gatherings... my father's side will be closer but then a lotta family politics which i shant elaborate... very very interesting... the family politics.. single mum .. twice divorcee.. yet this is the supposed devout Catholic side of the family... hmmz food for thot... hiaz my fotos taken wif cute cousin on digital cam might be corrupted.. i hope it turns out ok... cos my cousin soooo cute... Profits reaped today : $10 + $2 note from spore mint + $24 prepaid maybank debit card..
