This was my claim to fame.. tnp fame.. i wrote in for the 2nd time but din expect much of it since my 1st letter was only partially published.
This time, mj called me in the morning telling me that i have won as his ship mate bought the paper ... haha and it was such a gd present as wj wanted to buy boots wif me a mth ago but i told him i juz wrote in for the first time and i din need to buy cos i was gg to win them.
and so i was pleasantly surprised as i saw my articles on paper. Can also publicize for Little know blackburn... I was even more thrilled when Gary Lim called me one wk ago. He informed me that I could collect my prize blah blah blah and also he would throw in a few T-shirts cos' i was the Writer of the Month... then he also asked me for some inputs regarding an article he was writing...
Fast forward to 2 days ago, when i was already prepared to go to SPH to collect my boots at 7 pm. Instead they called me at 5 pm, say they haven collected their boots and told me they will inform me again.
Then JUST now, Ernest Luis called me while i was driving msleng/wong back. I couldnt talk long as i was driving so i just heard wad he said and orh orh him. Apparently he said gary had made a mistake and i wasnt the letter of the mth despite wad gary said because writer of week cannot win writer of the month. I just listened and din really process it until i hung up and upon thinking, we surmised that if writer of the mth goes to the best writer, then it shd come from the letter of the wk... As such, i called ernest back and explained my stand. This was the answer which sounded logical to me. Normally a first time writer of the WK doesnt win the letter of the mth in that month of him winning letter of the wk. There are many other writers who write in since a year ago and they have to somehow reward them... UNLESS ur article is really so damn good such that even Alex Fergie has to read, if not priority of the letter of the month would go to other more long term writers...
Of cos i was urged to write in regularly so that i could win the letter of mth NXT month as they would be more inclined to reward pple like me who contribute regularly... he den asked if i was the reader tipster before ... cos there was a mervyn who was one before.
in short, i would like to blame the person who cursed me as i had to "white open heart" cos i tot i had won another 500 dollar lotto package on top of my boots... Grrrr..
