Treats

Being jobless has its pros too. U get treats from working people.

Treat 1 was the treat at Tao at Paradiz Centre. Lunch would be about $20 pax while dinner would be $30 pax. You choose one tea, one soup, one appetizer, one main course and 1 dessert from an small number of choices.

First is cheesy salty bread mix, second would be my lamb chop, 3rd is the snapper fish, and you can see the nice little jugs they have in the 4th pic. The cold tea really tasted good. Of course, i purposely insisted on my nice little grapefruit tea instead of somebody's recommended mallow dunno wad tea. The highlight was this super PR waiter called Jeremy who entertained all patrons. They have this habit of shouting out welcome n thank you den everyone will echo loudly. and then we have Mr sociable Jeremy who talked a lot abt army, suan jen abt guessing the wrong age, but still adopted different personas as i observed him servicing guests n patrons. I wasn't in a talkative, responsive mood that day so my dear jen had to entertain n she also threw out her snoopy wallet. There was the banter between her bro n the waiter too as all that usual army imitations popped up. However the service is certainly very good, and the food too. Is worth a go but do make reservations beforehand.

Second was the Macaron Treat from Health policy Analyst.
This is the website. Despite 3 smses reminding me not to be late as usual, i was still late. After pacifying a bit, we walked a long way to the Robertson Quay area and even walked into the wrong restaurant. http://www.macaron.com.sg/ Review: http://chubbyhubby.net/blog/the-universal-and-macaron-new-and-noteworthy/
4 course 1 appetizer – 1 dessert amuse – 1 glass – 1 petit four $38.00
6 course 1 appetizer – 1 entree – 1 dessert amuse – 1 glasses – 1 grand dessert – 1 petit four $55.00
This was my 6 course treat order :
1) “appetizer”“Pulpo” : aioli sautéed potato paprika “air” extra virgin olive oil
2) “entrée” Foie Gras Parfait : apple compote cassis coulis brioche squares baby spinach
3) "Amuse”Poached Vanilla Citrus Pear: vanilla ice foam chocolate cream pear chips
4) Dessert Glasses Champagne Snow : pistachio chantilly forest berries compote Madeleine cake
5) Grand Dessert “Pain Perdu” : sautéed apple cinnamon ice cream vanilla cream
6) Petits Fours
It was modelled as a dessert restaurant and even the appetizer n entree had something desserty abt it. The first pic below is foie gras and i dunno how to pronounce it.. the waitress had to say smth else. but its some goose liver or smth. tasted yucky though. The rest i forgot what is what liao, except that the last one is the tea baba which is soaked into syrup which oozes out. My champagne grape was too champagny for my taste too as i had trouble gulping that down

It was one of my first time in such a posh place and i felt a bit out of place. The bill amounted to a hefty $139 bucks but since it was meant for my early bday treat, i had a free meal! Everything was served so nicely and they had to change the utensils after every meal. This is a good place to satisfy your sweet tooth indeed. I was so paisei to take pics so had to secretly take cos' well no one took pics? and everything is so posh n i can see the tai tais n rich pple juz come in for a dessert. I wonder whether nxt time i will be rich enuff to attain this kinda lifestyle..
