To think that we were having 2nd thoughts abt not registering for this tournament cos tat day of reg was my free day and i was lazy to jio pple... well glad i trudged dwn to sch n thereby we improved on our 3rd place last yr, got 2nd in engin league, then finally got top...

Road to Victory...
After struggling to wake up after 3 hrs of slp due to screwed up bio clock(dunstan also slept at 4 am, guoyew overnite mj, mj nvr slp well also n juz had handball training), our team wasnt in shape to play the first game... initially we thought sure lose liao.. cos our rock in defence zhiyuan got quiz tat day... then we heard nj sch team our opponents quite strong... however we managed to triumph 1:0.. they werent tat strong altho guoyew shot sort of trickled past the keeper and then we turned into close shop mode... defending in numbers and Team Smellydogs emerge.. haha waste time tactic and our usual kaobei at everything... once we got past the 1st hurdle.. we were guaranteed at least 2 more matches...

Then in the semi finals, our greatest challenge ever... former team-mate liyu opened his bank book n procured a team of international stars.. ( a team of exchange students.. german, finnish, japanese and norwegian i think) .. Donned in liverpool jerseys, they towered over us.. i m serious.. aerial battle won by them cos they at least one head taller than us.. we defended like mad dogs and through a corner and a 'typical' flick by tu-an, we took the lead.. then defend like siao... the 2nd half of 8 minutes seemed an eternity.. our time wasting tactic even incited a 'comeon play fast tats not fair' from an angmoh.. but we still won ugly.. tat meant tat we recouped our registration fee liao .. cos our policy is i pay first then no need to pay me back cos we confirm sure win bak the basic amt...

The final was agst the team we met in the grp stages.. the mauritius team... nicolas and co. again.. 1st half was a cautious affair.. both teams tired from the short breaks between matches and not willing to commit pple forward.. hence until we somehow scored.. guoyew turn n shoot from a throw in by kailun despite being surrounded by 3 defenders and w/o support, we packed our defence again.. and suddenly our opponents started showing their class.. it was played at frantic pace and balls were pumped into our box again.. thankfully we survived the onslaught and finally emerged champions and $200 richer

After thoughts, despite being severely weakened considerably w/o our normal stars n a proper keeper for the whole tournament.. i still cant believe we won... finally got something to put on resume liaoz.. haha can suan those who 4 YRS nvr win trophy ... it sure does give us bragging rights.. we were very lucky to get a good draw and avoid the strong teams tho' the standard this yr like not tat high...

guess we gotta change our name: Team Underdogs no more....
