The Interview
I shant blog abt results.. Anyway a word of advice. To avoid fruitless trips, make sure u get a brief summary of jobscope over the phone.. i took 2 cab trips to 2 different interviews.. one is PT associates.(branch of prudent), the other is XX biomagnetics grp. The latter company made me go down on 2 days.. 1st day gave me brief outlook.. n was very sketchy over jobscope.. they merely told me over the phone tat it was a officejob.. wtF.. in the end it is similar to MLM which they keep stressing they arent.. cos "other MLMs sell the system n pdt, we merely sell the pdt n make sure there is customer satisfaction".. they sell magnetic beds, wristbands(for golfers), pillow, comforter etc.. medically proven by Japan.. in a nutshell this guy tried to present his pdt 1st b4 i went in to see the boss for interview.. he was eloquent but cant really convince this student who got an S in Reason n Persuasion.. and then came the interview itself..
The guy was from my camp.. n was one of the men there.. wah liew... imagine ur men interviewing u.. at 1st i din recognise.but he said i looked familiar.. heh maybe i tekan him b4.. then he started his sales pitch.. i was alr trying to reject the job but he kept me there for one hr.. i realise techniques to clinching deals include gesturing with ur hands, try to use things tat might appeal to the interviewee.. eg CPL mike tried to use magic cards n dOTa to entice me but the way he brought it into the conversation so un natural.. dunno how he become the head of the unit..suddenly out of the blue say hey u hcjc right, got play magic cards or any card game cos he used to hang out at coro/serene ctre.. then ask u got play dota.. play together lei.. wat version u play.. then he was talking abt trying to let me test the pdt for free.. as a fren,做个朋友 n stay in contact even if i not interested.. but one thing he said really struck me.. similar to heng's preaching.. "23 岁 了还一事无成"
he looked at my resume.. n was lamenting abt he n me being same age, yet altho he din have my "illustrious" edu backgrd, here he was , doing so well.. kinda rubbing salt into the wound.. 成功在于尝试.. he kept pushing me to stay n give it a try.. then i juz had to be stubbornly adamant n in the end seeing tat outside still got other pple waiting for him to work his charm on, he relented n let me go.. hmm if i ever fall prey n kena brainwash by such pple, as a reader n concerned fren, pls wake me up from this MLM.. expect me to sell 4 $3K sets to start out .. siao boh.. hmm another way to convince pple.. use statistics.. he whipped out his calculator to show me figures, profit margin, etc ..i was like so so incredulous.. after this interview went ioc one.. short n sweet i even saw the lady tick the box "open n honest" :) haha i bet she does tat for every1.. but let me delude myself from the reality.. grades grades.. sep sep.. scholarship scholarship.. specialisations etc so many things to worry... so sad..
