07/05/06 Final EPL match day of the season

Boy was it a happening day.. i m realli fucking high and overwhelmed now.. pardon the expletive but words cant really describe the euphoria that is churning thru me now..














Although the season was already decided when chelsea beat man u.. the fight for fourth place and champion league qualification was up between bitter north london rivals Arsenal and Spurs. what accentuated the imptance of the match was that this was to be the FINAL game at highbury and possibly henry's last match for them too. Before i delve into the specifics, there were a few lovely ironic moments.. fowler celebrating his one yr contract wif a goal.. n all the pool strikers scoring.. crouch cisse.. and titus bramble scoring a spectacular at st james park agst champs chelsea.. which i told jen to rush to see the celebrations but she missed it.. in upton park, there was the other half of the battle, as injury ravaged spurs needed to win agst west ham to get 4th place.. it was so poignant that defoe got the equalizer agst his old club, n then sheringham was denied by his old club's new england keeper paul robinson as he missed a penalty.. (commentators were saying.. teddy always had a soft spot for spurs) however, yossi tore apart spurs fans' hearts wif the left footed poke.. and it was heart wrenching, seeing the players and the fans being demoralized after a splendid season! all hard work came to nought.. man u easily secured 2nd place wif a rousing display agst charlton.. they always thrash charlton.. while my team blackburn had an easy 2-0 victory agst man city..

BUT back to highbury and where it all happened.. pires scored 1st, but david thompson architected a comeback n let Wigan take a 2-1 lead.. but who else should pop up BUT my fantasy team captain n player of the year Thierry Henry to score a hat trick.. n bring his tally to 31 goals.. absolutely phenomenal.. he easily slotted in from a thru pass and ironically the best wigan player on pitch.. david thompson actually did a steven gerrard and assisted henry wif a simple 1 v 1.. and finally the icing on the cake was when the 2 new substitutes tangled and ljundberg won a penalty n johansson was sent off and who else but henry to ease it past the keeper for his hattrick ...






ALL HAIL THE UNPREDECENTED KING OF HIGHBURY



AND HERE HE BLOWS HIS LAST KISS TO THE HIGHBURY GROUND.. the turf which has been the home of arsenal's success.. his swagger, his arrogance is one only befitting the world's best.. i m still regretting the day juve sold him


and let us salute my all time fave player.. who can forget his flick agst newcastle... and his sublime control and then a placing past the keeper in the WC.. and many many more.. as the commentator said.. he doesnt have pace and power but he makes up for it wif his supreme ability..


Scenes of jubilation outside the stadium .. 93 yrs and its gone.. i hope nxt wk when i go london i still can take pic of it.. sadz.. such a famous place which borne stars like Ian Wright and the famous stingy back four like Lee dixon, nigel winterburn, tony adams and steve bould.. n whu can forget the vieira, petit, overmars days.. it was them who stopped the domination of man u.. and i will certainly be supporting them for the may 18 final altho' they kicked out my dear juve... Viva Arsenal..

Ok, on a non soccer note, happy bday to baizhen and to nordic queen today... baizhen called me 3 times on my autoroam fone... which i din pick up of cos.. and then directly after that my finnish fone rang.. which gave me a shock cos he wasnt supp to know the no.. but it was actually wu zhe coming to pick up his lappie from my room.. and to graceful thng.. u confirm will be spoilt by the 9 testerone charged males in denmark.. so u can wear ur tiara n enjoy the flowery day...

oh well, the party last night wasnt realli as great as the last time but
